DNS over XMPP

A deferred XMPP extension for DNS queries and responses.

XEP-0418 specifies a way to carry DNS requests and responses through XMPP. The proposal is deferred, but it documents a formal attempt to put DNS inside a messaging protocol.

It shows that “DNS over…” is not only a collection of one-off projects. Some ideas were explored through standards work as well.
